Kyiv's Medical Officer of Health has banned swimming at all 11 official beaches in the city, according to the municipal water management enterprise Pleso.
Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) Petro Panteleyev says that consumers of three Kyiv districts will receive hot water through the centralized water supply system on Tuesday, June 27, according to the KCSA's press service.
As of June 18, all settlements of five districts in Donetsk region, which were left without water as a result of shelling by militants on June 10, have been connected to the centralized water supply, except for Oleksandrivka, while the town of Avdiyivka remains without gas, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Situations Service.
With the recent escalation of hostilities damaging vital water infrastructure in eastern Ukraine, at least 750,000 children are at imminent risk of being cut off from safe drinking water, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) warned on Friday, UN News Centre reported.
Following the annexation by Russia in 2014, Crimea now deals with growing shortages of drinking water, with the main water source - the Dnipro river - running through Ukrainian-controlled territory, out of reach for Russian-installed authorities, according to Hromadske International.
