Deputy Minister for the Occupied Territories and IDPs, former Head of the Luhansk Military Civil Administration George Tuka has said that under the new law on Donbas reintegration, Ukraine will recognize two types of documents issued by the occupation authorities in eastern Ukraine, namely birth and death certificates, that’s according to Ukrainian TV Channel 5.
Moscow does not intend to bear responsibility for what is happening in the occupied parts of eastern Ukraine, Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said, answering an UNIAN correspondent’s question Jan 19.
Having adopted the law on Donbas reintegration, Ukrainian MPs supported Petro Poroshenko’s strategy of liberation of the occupied territories, the Ukrainian President said during a joint press conference with Governor General of Canada Julie Payette in Lviv January 18, an UNIAN correspondent reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation branded the law of Ukraine on de-occupation of Donbas “preparation for a new war”, as stated in the commentary by the Russian foreign ministry, available to UNIAN.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov did not rule out that the provisions on Crimea de-occupation could be included in the presidential bill on the restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty in the occupied areas in Donbas, DT.UA reports.
Ukrainian President Poroshenko plans to discuss at the UN General Assembly the initiative of creating an international group of Ukraine's friends for de-occupation of Crimea, according to an UNIAN correspondent, referring to Poroshenko's speech at the 14th Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting (YES) in Kyiv on September 15.
