Russian ruble to become main currency in so-called LPR

"In order to stabilize the financial and monetary system, as well as due to financial operations mainly in the Russian ruble and the sharp decline of the hryvnia cash volume in the LPR, it is established that the basic monetary unit in the LPR is the Russian ruble," the report says.

Salaries, pensions and social benefits will be paid in Russian rubles.

However, the militants still maintain the circulation of the hryvnia, the U.S. dollar and the euro in the occupied territories.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the forthcoming pseudo-elections in the DPR and LPR strengthened the fall of the ruble.
