Yanukovych hopes for a new political union

Party of Regions leader Victor Yanukovych claims that his party is holding talks with the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko.

He said this in an interview with Inter TV-channel on Monday.

According to him, presently there is no answer to the question “whether we [the Party of Regions] are ready to shoulder responsibility together with that political force [BYuT]”.

Asked whether there is a split in the Party of Regions, Victor Yanukovych said that there have always been discussions in the party, and, probably, at present, the discussion is sharper than usually. “But there is absolutely nothing to fear”, Victor Yanukovych added.

He also expressed a hope that after the presidential election a new union of political forces will appear in parliament, which will help avoid early parliamentary election. In his opinion, such developments are the most probable.
