Regional police head Shevtsov is accused of separatism / Photo from UNIAN

Dekanoidze signed the order on March 14 in connection with the examination of new circumstances, the National Police's media liaison office said.

Shevtsov's first deputy, Yuriy Pedos, will temporarily head Vinnytsia regional police.

Pedos joined the National Police after competence assessment in December 2015.

Ukrainian activists claim that Shevtsov allegedly supported separatism and the annexation of Crimea by Russia, in particular, he participated in the Victory Day parade in Sevastopol on May 9, 2014. Later Shevtsov submitted a document to prove he had successfully passed a lie detector check by the SBU Security Service of Ukraine.
