"It took a year to have UAH 2.8 billion transferred in the treasury accounts of Donetsk region for the restoration of Donbas," Zhebrivskyi told TV Channel 24, RBC Ukraine reported.

Zhebrivskyi noted that the funds would be spent on the reconstruction of a bridge near the town of Lysychansk, as well as on repairs to roads, hospitals and the creation of a chain of hub schools.

"The key issue is that people must feel secure. This is our task number one. The second one concerns the economy because nobody wants to invest, therefore investment should be made by the state," he stated.

"I have repeatedly outlined my own vision of rebuilding Donbas ... [when speaking] both with the president and the prime minister," Zhebrivskyi said.
