"Over the last day, we have lost three Ukrainian soldiers, and another twelve were injured as a result of military clashes. The greatest losses were in the direction of Donetsk," Lysenko said.
According to Lysenko, the village of Shyrokyne remains the only point of contact in the direction of Mariupol. The militants are using a wide range of weapons - from small arms up to 122mm artillery.
"The situation remains tense in the area of Donetsk. On Thursday, the fighting on the western outskirts of Donetsk intensified in the afternoon. The militants fired cannon artillery, 120mm mortars and tank shells," he said.
"In addition to the shooting at the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces, the militants fired 122mm artillery on residential areas of the town of Avdiivka, and the villages of Opytne and Vodiane, resulting in civilian casualties: one person was killed and another two injured by shrapnel," he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the situation in the Donbas conflict zone has not undergone significant changes in the last day and continues to be tense.
