The militants also fired small caliber weapons on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Novotroyitske, Shyrokyne, Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Hranitne, Luhanske, Butivka coal mine and the town of Schastia.

"The Ukrainian military had to return fire from small arms and rocket-propelled grenades 15 times in order to hold their positions," the headquarters said.
