The contact with the soldier was lost in the area of Zolote. According to the ATO press center, the troops were returning from the hospital to their base but around 16:00 they strayed off the path and accidentally drove into the territory, controlled by the Russian-backed militants.

It is now known that the hostages have been taken to Luhansk.
