The official Paris reported that the authorized officials were not allowed to give any comments on Mistrals until next week, Kommersant wrote.

According to several sources in the military technical sector, the final agreement on the termination of the contract was made during negotiations between Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin and Secretary General of General Secretariat for Defence and National Security of the Republic of France Louis Gautier.

"Russia has estimated its loss at a huge amount. In addition to the advance payment provided – EUR 892.9 million, which included training costs of 400 sailors for the crews and building port infrastructure in Vladivostok where the first of the two ships was to be stationed, as well as development of four deck Ka-52K prototypes, the total sum makes up EUR 1.163 billion. This amount will definitely be refunded in full. It will be raised to include risks and costs associated with dismantling and unloading ships with Russian equipment supplied in the course of the construction," according to the publication, citing its sources.

It is noted that all the settlements may be reached in early August. Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Francois Hollande are expected to make official statements soon.
