"The Russian government is currently working to elaborate proposals related to seven countries, a draft resolution is already in the pipeline," the ministry's press service told RIA Novosti.

However, the date when the document will be ready is not known yet, the source said.

Earlier, Russia's Federation Council announced that a possible expansion of the list of the countries subject to a ban on food imports might also concern Ukraine.

On Tuesday, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the Russian government might ask President Vladimir Putin to extend the black list.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Montenegro, Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Ukraine have recently joined the EU's extended economic sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The Russian Agriculture Ministry said that retaliatory measures might be also taken against Georgia. "A list of the countries is to be determined," a spokesman for the ministry said.
