He announced this to reporters in Odesa on Friday, the presidential press service told UNIAN.

The president also noted that the Security Service and the law enforcers would aim their efforts at prevention of such events in other regions of Ukraine as well.

"There will be no people with weapons on the streets of any Ukrainian city. People with certificates of NGOs or pseudo-security officials will not frighten peaceful Ukrainians," he said.

He expressed belief that recent seizure of subversive groups in Odesa demonstrated the revival of the Armed Forces, the Security Service and other law enforcement structures of Ukraine.

"We have proved that we will not allow organizing slaughter here. We will not allowthe repeat of May 2," the president stressed.

"Today, the best experts on counter-reconnaissance and ATO demonstrate their efficiency," he added.

Speaking of the last year's events in Odesa, Poroshenko noted that the investigation should be more transparent. "Odesa residents have the right to know what is happening and who is accused irrespective of political colors of those who are objectively suspected of the death of people," the president said. He added that supporters of various political forces had been killed at the beginning of May 2014.

Poroshenko pledged he would do everything to further improve the work of the law enforcement agencies.

"My steps on the enhancement of capabilities of the law enforcement bodies and the Security Service are aimed at making Odesa residents feel secure and preserving peace in Odesa," he added.
