"Judges enjoy immunity while you're investigating corruption in the judicial system, and it takes months or years to investigate. Unfortunately, this is common practice now: they're hiding from the police, we put them on the international wanted list, and the cases remain unsolved," Poroshenko said at a meeting with National Anti-Corruption Bureau personnel on Tuesday.

He insists that judges must be brought to justice if they commit corruption crimes.

"We need to eliminate judicial immunity. They should not be held liable only for the decisions they take, but [should be punished] for the bribes they take – excuse me," Poroshenko said.
