"In the early hours of August 13, residential areas in the village of Artemove near the town of Dzerzhynsk in Donetsk region came under massive militant attack. The shelling was carried out with the use of 122mm and 152mm artillery systems located at Gagarin coalmine, not far from the militant-occupied town of Horlivka. From 23:00 to 02:30, the militants were firing about 50 shells on Artemove. As a result of the shelling a house consisting of four apartments at 15 Dzerzhynskoho Street was burnt down leaving all residents homeless. In addition, the militants fired 122mm shells on Artem freight railway station, having damaged its facade, windows with doors, as well as rails, auxiliary facilities and the fence," he wrote.

Multiple cases of destruction caused by explosions of large-caliber shells were reported at Dzerzhynskoho, Engelsa, Chapayeva, and Pershotravneva Streets, and Pioneriv Lane in the village. There were also reports about wounded civilians and killed pets.

"Facts of the barbaric destruction of the residential sector and the railway station by the pro-Russian militants in Artemove have been documented by the JCCC's Ukrainian group and handed over to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine," Semeniuk said.
