Ukraine military deny reports of militant offensive on Avdiyivka

There are no offensive actions by Russian-backed militants near Avdiyivka, that’s according to a press secretary of the 81st Brigade Kostyantyn Tatarkin, Ukrainska Pravda reports.

"There were shellings. There is no active offensive. The situation remains tolerable," he said.

"This morning, we were fired upon, but not from heavy weapons. It was SPG grenade machine guns and small arms," said Tatarkin.

At the same time, the Ukrainian troops say one Ukrainian soldier in the area of Avdiyivka suffered wounds of medium severity and another two were lightly wounded.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Chaplain of the Christian Rescue Service Volodymyr reported of the miltiants’ attempt to storm positions of the Armed Forces of Ukreaine in Avdiyivka.
