Probably, Russian spin doctors were right by 100% when they sent Vladimir Putin to the Ussuri reserve in Siberia to “shoot the beast”. Of course, it’s a pity that there are no crocodiles or lions in Siberia, the story could have been even more picturesque...

Putin did to the West the same thing that he did to the Amur tiger on Monday. One may come to this conclusion upon reading the EU’s statement on Russia publicized yesterday.

Probably, Russian spin doctors were right by 100% when they sent Vladimir Putin to the Ussuri reserve in Siberia to “shoot the beast”. Of course, it’s a pity that there are no crocodiles or lions in Siberia, the story could have been even more picturesque – just imagine Putin tearing the lion’s mouth. But, nevertheless, a tiger was OK too…

The episode with the tiger draw in fact a very good analogy with the West. A tiger seems to be a really giant predator, it can show its claws and teeth, but it was snoring tranquilized while Putin was kissing it.

Threatening statements of Merkel, endless trips of Sarkozy, all that made us believe that EU will give a really adequate response to Russia’s actions in Georgia. But nothing happened… EU decided to sit snug once again, to pretend sleeping and to avoid any decisive steps. They issued nothing but a limp statement - and, without any doubt, EU lost in this game.

Putin did not kill the tiger, just sedated it with a tranquilizer gun. The tiger came to consciousness and returned to its forest pretending that it is still the king of beasts and master of  forest. However, for those who watched all that developments, there is no secret any more who is the real master…
