Poroshenko approves ratification of Agreement on financing Danube Transnational Program

Photo from UNIAN President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed off the law on ratification of the Agreement on the financing of the Danube Transnational Program. The ratification of the Agreement will create legal grounds for receiving free of charge the EUR 5 million funding of projects under the Danube Transnational Program as a financial instrument of the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region. "The implementation of the Agreement will contribute to the fulfillment of the obligations defined by the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, as well as the socio-economic development of the Ukrainian part of the Danube Region, covering the Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions," the report said. As UNIAN reported earlier, in December 2017, Ukraine, Hungary, and the EU signed an Agreement on the financing of the Danube Transnational Program in the amount of EUR 5 million. On September 19, 2018, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on ratification of the financing agreement for the Danube Transnational Program (No. 0196).
