The deficit was covered by government borrowing, which in January-April amounted to UAH 158.5 billion ($5.9 billion), according to a report by the Ukrainian Finance Ministry. It is noted that the national budget received UAH 132.2 billion ($4.9 billion) from the placement of government bonds, including UAH 91 billion ($3.4 billion), $1.5 billion and EUR 38.7 million. In addition, funds were received from the second tranche of a EUR 529 million loan guaranteed by the World Bank and from the additional placement of government bonds worth $350 million. Privatization receipts amounted to UAH 184 million ($6.8 million), which accounted for 3% of the budget targets. As of May 2, the amount of funds on the Single Treasury Account amounted to UAH 36.85 billion ($1.3 billion), and there are funds in the currency accounts of the State Treasury in the equivalent of UAH 53.8 billion ($2.01 billion). "The Ministry of Finance is fully ready for the planned passage of the peak debt burden in May," the report says. The national budget of Ukraine for 2019 set a target of UAH 1.026 trillion ($38 billion) in total revenue and UAH 1.112 trillion ($41 billion) in expenditures. The budget deficit was capped at UAH 89.989 billion ($3.3 billion).
