Shipments of perishable food products are to be given priority when clearing customs between Ukraine and the Russian-occupied Ukrainian territory of Crimea, Yuriy Epanov, the deputy head of the office of Rosselkhoznadzor has said, local newspaper Novosti Kryma has reported.

Epanov, speaking at a meeting in Simferopol on behalf of the occupation authorities’ agricultural products regulator, said that the measure primarily relates to transport vehicles supplying milk and refrigerated meat.

"Unpredictable blockades that occur at the border have a negative impact on those suppliers that are transporting high quality food products to Crimea," Epanov said.
