That&#39;s according to Deputy Head of the President&#39;s Office on economic issues, Oleksiy Honcharuk. "Smuggling is a huge problem, a result of which the country is losing billions of dollars. These are monetary funds at the expense of which we could solve the problems of repayment of debts to our international partners and foreign institutions," Honcharuk told a Kyiv briefing Tuesday, an UNIAN correspondent reports. "You all understand that some brand sneakers are being exported from Poland but they&#39;re coming in as second-hand shoes. This can&#39;t go on like that. The simplest thing is to synchronize our databases with those of our neighbors. By the way, this question was raised yesterday by the president at the summit with our European colleagues," he said. “The president, by his decree, stated that the government already needs to take all possible measures so that this year it will be possible to synchronize the databases with other countries. This will substantially help to solve the problem of smuggling," he added.
