"The vice president also informed the Ukrainian and Russian sides of the readiness of the European Commission to hold a trilateral meeting in Brussels in mid-April," Naftogaz Ukrainy said in a statement.
National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrainy welcomes the Commission's proposal to extend until the end of the next autumn-winter period the terms of "winter package" on Russian gas supplies to Ukraine, which were agreed in Brussels on 31 October 2014, the company said.
"In support of this proposal and to ensure cooperation between the companies, Naftogaz has sent Gazprom a letter in which it suggests the possibility of extending the terms of "winter package", the statement reads.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn, the decision on the terms and price of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine could be agreed and signed by the middle of April and be valid until the summer of 2016.
