The NIIP position reflects a nation's stock of foreign assets minus its foreign liabilities. NIIP includes overseas assets and liabilities held by a nation’s government, the private sector and its citizens.

According to the NBU data, in 2014 Ukrainian assets decreased by 9.1%, or by $12.596 billion, to $125.535 billion, while liabilities were down by 13.6%, or $29.428 billion, to $185.551 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the negative net international investment position of Ukraine in 2013 increased by $16.933 billion, or by 28.3%, to $76.848 billion.
