Inflation in Ukraine in September 2019 slowed to 7.5% year-over-year (y-o-y) against 8.8% recorded in August 2019 y-o-y.

Consumer prices in Ukraine grew by 0.7% in September 2019 from August 2019 (after falling by 0.3% in August against July), whereas they rose by 3.4% from December 2018, the State Statistics Service said.

The highest increase in September 2019, in annual terms, was recorded in prices of vegetables and railway passenger transport (by 28% each), sewerage services, hot water, and heating (by 19.1% each), as well as water utility services (by 17.9%).

Over the period under review, a decrease in prices was reported for eggs (23.6%), natural gas (8.5%), fuel and oils (8.2%), and shoes (0.3%).

The State Statistics Service said the report does not include data from Russian-occupied areas in Crimea, Sevastopol and parts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

As UNIAN reported earlier, inflation in Ukraine in August 2019 stood at 8.8% y-o-y, having slowed from 9.1% recorded in July 2019 y-o-y.
