Balance of payments deficit in Ukraine amounts to $1.9 billion in Q1

According to the NBU, in March the balance of payments deficit amounted to $305 million, which is almost 1.5 times higher than the deficit in March last year.

According to the report, the current account deficit in January-March decreased by 1.8 times on a year-over-year basis, and amounted to $836 million, while the deficit of the financial and capital account has decreased by 2.5 times, and amounts to $1.102 billion.

According to the regulator, the net inflow of foreign direct investment (balance) in January-March amounted to $460 million, against an outflow of $665 million dollars in the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2015 the negative balance on loans and bonds amounted to $3.317 billion.
