REUTERS Inflation in Ukraine in April 2015 from March 2015 accelerated to 14% against 10.8% in March 2015 from February 2015, the State Statistics Service reported on its Web site. The data doesn&#39;t include statistics from the Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, which are occupied by Russia, and from the militant-controlled territory in eastern Ukraine. Inflation in April 2015 from April 2014 accelerated to 60.9% from 45.8% in March 2015 from March 2014, the service said. Inflation January through April 2015 was 37.1%. Natural gas went up in price most – its prices soared by 5.5 times in April 2015 from March 2015, while power rates grew by 33.6%, and prices of pasta increased by 10.7%, the statistics service reported. Prices of natural gas in April 2015 from April 2014 skyrocketed by 9 times, prices of sunflower oil doubled, prices of fruit rose by 1.9 times, those of bread and bakery products, fish and foods made of it grew by 1.8 times. At the same time, prices of fuel and lubricants fell by 8.3% in April 2015 from March 2015, those of sugar declined by 7.2% and eggs by 5.3%. However, no one of the groups of consumer goods, foods and services demonstrated a decline in year-over-year prices in April 2015. As UNIAN reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers considers three scenarios of economic developments in Ukraine in 2015: the low-case scenario with an 11.9% decline in GDP amid 42.8% inflation, and two base-case scenarios with a GDP decline between 5.5% and 8.6% and inflation between 26.7% and 38.1%. The National Bank of Ukraine in turn forecasts that GDP may decline by 7.5% in 2015 amid 30% inflation.
