"It's difficult now because of the sanctions. But we're definitely planning to [cooperate] in the future, after the sanctions are lifted," Dudley said on the sidelines of the World Gas Conference, which is being held June 1-5 in Paris, France.

He said that there were traditional projects that  both companies planned to develop in the future, in particular - joint development of the Taas-Yuryakhskoye field.

In early 2015, it became known that BP had signed a new memorandum with Rosneft on the development of the Taas-Yuryakhskoye field in Eastern Siberia, but the parties did not finalize the deal in view of the tense political situation and the introduction of Western sanctions against Russia.
