Ukraine's gas imports reached 1 438 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-February 2020 and that is 57% more than the same period last year but, on the other hand, 19% less than the average in 2016-2019.

According to the operational data of LLC Gas TSO of Ukraine, 981 million cubic meters were imported to Ukraine in February 2020. This is 47% more than in February 2019, reads the report.

In particular, in January-February 2020, imports from Slovakia were about 987 million cubic meters (+ 59% compared to the same period last year), from Hungary – 229 million cubic meters (+ 41%), from Poland – 222 million cubic meters (+ 140%). It should be noted that import volumes from Poland also include a virtual reverse of 178 million cubic meters.

As of March 11, 2020, all imported volumes of natural gas come exclusively from EU countries. Since November 2015, Ukraine has not been importing gas from the Russian Federation.
