"I suggest to start testing [a new model of the power market] in September-October," the prime minister said at the collegium of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

The new model of the electric power market, according to Yatsenyuk, will envisage transition to direct contracts between consumers and producers of electric energy and introduction of its exchange-based market trading.

"By September, I expect to see an effective concept of reforming the coal industry," Yatsenyuk said.

He added that such concept should include creating an efficient coal market, loss-free operations of state mines, as well as diversification of imports.
