The country's gross foreign debt to GDP grew to 122.8% from 110.5% of GDP in the first quarter, the NBU said in its analytical note, posted on its official website.
The U.S. dollar remained the core currency of Ukraine's foreign borrowings as of July 1 and accounted for 74.7% of all the liabilities.
As of the end of the second quarter, the sector of general public administration accounted for 28.27% of gross external debt, which was $35.894 billion, banks accounted for 12.40%, or $15.739 billion, while the share of the Central Bank was 5.18%, or $6.574 billion. The remaining sectors owed $59.027 billion, or 46.49% of the debt.
