"Ukroboronprom has already been manufacturing drones. The Defense Ministry placed an order in April this year, and Spectrum-type UAVs will be shipped to our armed forces in November. Thus, our army is equipped with drones," Romanov told Channel 5.
Ukroboronprom has also launched the production of a new drone with characteristics that are similar to those of international production.
"The Observer-type drone with high performance, which is confirmed by our Western partners, is a prototype that meets international requirements. Its price is lower by times, and it has been tested in the conditions of the Anti-Terrorist Operation [in Donbas], thus it is adjusted to modern warfare conditions. And that is its distinctive feature," Romanov said.
"The most important under the current conditions is its resistance to jamming… It's virtually impossible to make it land. At least the tests we've conducted show that it's the only drone out of the seven UAVs that were in test operation with it that has passed the complete cycle of tests. … Now it's the Defense Ministry that should form an order with quantities," he added.
