Kyiv and Berlin create Ukraine-Germany Chamber of Commerce

An official ceremony of the signing of the document took place as part of the Ukrainian-German Business Forum on Friday, which was attended by Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The document was signed in the presence of the two heads of government.

The Chamber is expected to considerably step up the presence of German businesses in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius said during the forum that German businesses would be more protected in Ukraine after the opening of the Ukrainian-German Chamber of Commerce.

"I think German companies will be more safeguarded in Ukraine after the creation of the Chamber," he said.
