"Over the two weeks IMF experts will be discussing the issues of stepping up disclosure requirements on the capital market and transparency of market players, improving the procedure for the issue of securities, sanctions for capital market violations, including the use of insider information and price manipulation," the press service reported.
NSSMC Head Timur Khromaev said that the cooperation with the IMF would be a precondition for the development of a full-fledged capital market in Ukraine that is properly regulated in accordance with international standards.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on July 13-27, international experts evaluated the adequacy of operational and financial independence of the NSSMC, its enforcement powers and international cooperation.
Based on the results of work, the mission drew up a report, in which the IMF suggested that Ukraine should amend the legislation for expanding the NSSMC's inspection powers to conduct independent audits of companies operating on the securities market.
