"Due to the realistic forecast that was laid out, for the first time in four years, we managed to execute the budget in terms of revenues and even over-execute it by UAH 2.7 billion. The last time this happened was in 2011 against a background of economic growth. Compared to 2014, the revenues increased by UAH 177.6 billion, or by 50%," she said.

According to Jaresko, the government managed to reduce the budget deficit, despite the increase in costs.

While the revenues grew by 50%, the expenses grew at a slower pace – by 34%, or UAH 147 billion, compared to 2014. This has allowed us to significantly reduce the gap between revenues and expenditures from 20% in 2014 to 8% in absolute value," said the minister.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to Jaresko, the state budget deficit in 2015 narrowed to UAH 45.2 billion, or 2,3% of GDP, due to fiscal restructuring.
