A meeting held on July 13 was attended by Assistant Secretary for International Affairs Jonathan Elkind, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Clean Coal and Carbon Management David Mohler, Director of the U.S. DOE Office in Ukraine Andrew Vogt and DOE Program Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv Arina Kovalenko.
The report noted that the parties also discussed issues regarding the implementation of investment programs by Energoatom over the next two to five years, including the diversification of nuclear fuel supplies for Ukrainian nuclear power plants, the construction of a centralized spent fuel storage facility using the technology of American company Holtec International and the construction of new nuclear power units.

However, Energoatom and the Ukrainian Energy Ministry called for the maintenance of the existing balance in generating power.
