Former top official of Ukrposhta suspected of large scale embezzlement

It has been reported that the pre-trial investigation had established that in 2014, an official, acting in the interests of third parties and abusing his official position, entered into an agreement with a private company to supply fuel at deliberately inflated prices, having over-billed the state-owned enterprise UAH 1.1 million.

The Ukrposhta official has been charged under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (misappropriation or taking of another's property through abuse of office committed on a large scale).

Further, a petition to the court has been drawn up to determine how to restrain the suspect prior to the trial.

An investigation into the possible embezzlement  is ongoing.
