A relevant court decision was published in the national state register of court rulings.

"Having considered the grounds set forth in the claim [submitted by Gazprom] and analyzed the materials attached to it, the panel of judges finds the claim groundless," the decision reads.

The Supreme Court thus decline to initiate proceedings for the claim, it said. The court decision is final and not subject to further review.

The decision was prompted by a Ukrainian government order and was in line with formal charges brought by the European Commission against Gazprom for abusing its dominant market position in Central and Eastern European gas markets in breach of the European Union's antitrust rules.
