"We expect that the European Union will in the coming days cancel the anti-dumping duty on imports of steel ropes from Ukraine after nearly 19 years. The duty is the latest anti-dumping measure against Ukrainian exports to the EU," Mykolska said.

She also stressed that because of the duties, the European market was actually closed for PJSC Stalkanat-Silurian, the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of this type of products.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the share of the European market in total Ukrainian exports accounted for 37.5% in 11 months of 2016, amounting to $12.2 billion, which was 3.1% up year-over-year.

The key groups of export staples are farm produce ($3.6 bln), metalware ($2.8 bln), engineering products (about $2 bln), fertilizers ($1.2 bln), wood and products of its processing ($816 mln), light industry products ($734 mln), and chemical industry products ($427 mln). In general, 13 regions of Ukraine showed positive dynamics of exports to the European Union.
