Polish labor market boosts demand for Ukrainians

Polish employers submitted 948,000 applications for the employment of foreigners in the first half of 2017. At the same time, the demand for workers from Ukraine has increased significantly, an envoy of the Polish Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy told Rzeczpospolita publication, Radio Poland reported.

"This is almost 50% up year-over-year," he said.

Read also'Traces of explosion' found on Smolensk plane – Radio PolandAccording to the publication, 326,000 Ukrainians residing in Poland work in the transport industry and in warehouses, 200 people are involved in trade, 116,000 Ukrainians work in the tourism sector, while 15,000 Ukrainian citizens have found employment in the scientific and technical fields.
