Ukrainians in Poland transfer US$2.24 bln to home country in 2016

Polish Deputy Minister, Undersecretary of State for Security Bartosz Cichocki says Ukrainians working in Poland transferred PLN 8 billion, or US$2.24 billion, to Ukraine in 2016, according to an UNIAN correspondent, reporting from a briefing in Kyiv on September 19.


In his words, over 1.2 million Ukrainians living and working in Poland transferred PLN 8 billion to Ukraine last year, which accounted for over 3% of Ukraine's GDP.

Poland mulls fence along border with Belarus, Ukraine - media"We are happy to note a significant increase in an economic, trade exchange between our countries in the first quarter [of 2017] accounting for 30%, and we expect that this year the financial indicators will be even higher," he told reporters.
