"The recommended payment is not mandatory and cannot be considered as a debt for consumed natural gas," the Commission said in a statement.
The regulator also indicates that failure to pay the recommended sum shall not be among grounds for suspending gas supplies to consumers.
The NEURC recommended that the gas suppliers focus on improving their services and informing consumers properly.
