Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) on January 27-February 3 shrank by 4.3%, or 557 million cubic meters, to 12.269 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 12.826 bcm.

In particular, 81.71 mcm of gas was withdrawn from storage facilities on February 3 alone, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

On October 26, Ukraine stopped injecting gas into underground storage facilities and began pumping it out for the smooth heating season.

Ukraine had accumulated 16.8 bcm of gas in the underground storage facilities by the beginning of the 2017-2018 heating season (October 15).
