Photo from UNIAN The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate nearly UAH 8 billion on raising allowances of Ukrainian doctors and medical staff starting September 1. "This year we will increase expenditures on salaries to all medics by a total of almost UAH 8 billion," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told an extraordinary government meeting on Friday, according to an UNIAN correspondent. "I understand that in the conditions of the economic crisis this won&#39;t be an easy thing to do, but it will be done anyway. It is our duty before our doctors and health workers," he said. This is the least we could do this year," said the prime minister. According to Shmyhal, all medecs, regardless of their position, could have their salaries increased by 75%, paramedical personnel – by about UAH 2,360, and nurses – by UAH 1,180 UAH. The prime minister also promised to increase the general minimum wage in the country, which will automatically lead to higher wages, including in the health care sector. Also, the government intends to increase expenditures for patients&#39; treatment.
