CEO of Ukrposhta, Ukraine's national postal services operator, has noted the country's success in the Postal Development ranking based on the Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD).

Igor Smilyansky says it's the first time Ukraine occupies such a high spot.

Switzerland tops the Postal Development ranking, reads the Postal Development Report 2020, published on the Universal Postal Union website on October 9. 

The runner-up is Austria, while Germany completes the TOP 3.

The ranking was based on assessing the reliability, availability, relevance, and resilience to external and internal shocks of postal companies.

Background

  • PJSC Ukrposhta in 2019 received UAH 607 million (US$21.5 million) in net profit against of UAH 627 million (US$22.2 million) in loss posted in 2018.
  • At the same time, the company's net profit from sales of goods, works, and services stood at about UAH 8.1 billion (US$287.1 million), which was 18.7% up from 2018.
  • Ukrposhta set a target to receive UAH 9.68 billion (US$343.1 million) in revenue in 2020, which is UAH 1.5 billion (US$53.2 million) up against 2019.
