The Memorandum provides for preparation of preliminary feasibility study of the concession (construction and operation) of the Kyiv - Bila Tserkva highway (new direction) and the first stage of the Ring Road in Kyiv (new area of highway M-06 Kyiv - Chop to road M-05 Kyiv - Odesa), the Office of the National Investment Council reports.

The memo was signed by the Deputy Head of the State Agency of Motor Roads of Ukraine Oleksandr Kharchenko and Commercial Director of Bouygues Travaux Publics SAS Jean-Denis Arnal.

"Negotiations with Bouygues started in December 2017. Since then, the Ministry of Infrastructure together with the Office of the National Investment Council of Ukraine have provided ongoing facilitation to the process, which today culminated with signing of the memo. We hope it will lay the foundation for successful concession cases in Ukraine. For international investors, the fact that the large French company Bouygues, which is present in 90 countries, expressed interest in concession of roads in Ukraine is definitely a positive sign. We expect that the new law on concessions that Verkhovna Rada should adopt this summer, will attract more companies with a worldwide known name into the Ukrainian transport infrastructure," project manager of the Office of the National Investment Council and advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure Nadiya Kaznacheyeva commented.

It is noted that Bouygues Group operates in 90 countries and has a market capitalization of over EUR 15 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the infrastructure ministry had reported that the project documentation for the first two stages of the big Kyiv Ring Road was ready by 90% and would be completed by the end of the year.

The total length of the new road will amount to nearly 200 km, set to run through Vorzel, Hlevakha, Ukrayinka, Boryspil, and Stari Petrivtsi.
