Kyiv police detain group in counterfeit money raid

Kyiv police say their operatives have detained a criminal group involved in the distribution of counterfeit currency.

"In the course of the second stage of the special operation, the perpetrators were detained and a search was conducted at the site where they were selling fake foreign currency," Kyiv PD press service has told UNIAN.

During the search, law enforcement officers discovered and seized almost 2,000 counterfeit EUR 500 banknotes worth 998,000 euros.

All suspects are facing a remand term pending trial.
