The launch of the Kyiv funicular after the annual routine maintenance has been postponed indefinitely, according to the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

With reference to the Kyivpastrans municipal enterprise, the administration told UNIAN that the annual technical inspection of the funicular had been extended.

"After the test load was applied, the cable stretch exceeded the permissible norm. According to experts, the issue requires additional attention and time for fixing. The company will update the public on the new deadline for the completion of scheduled works," the statement says.
