Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 66 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 66 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus. One person died. The death toll in the capital city over the period of the pandemic is 88 people," he said on Facebook on June 14.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 3,904.

In total, 1,164 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

According to Klitschko, 37 women aged 24 to 80 and 25 men aged 18 to 62 are among those newly infected. In addition, three girls (one is four years old, two are 11) and one boy (nine years old) tested positive for the coronavirus in the past day. Of them, there are six health care workers.

Klitschko said 16 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Obolonsky district (12), Solomyansky district (11), Holosiyivsky and Desniansky districts (eight each).
