Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city rose by 73 in the past day.

"In the past day, another 73 residents of Kyiv tested positive for the coronavirus. There was one fatality," he said on Facebook on June 21.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the city is 4,325.

According to Klitschko, 41 women, 28 men, and four children are among those infected.

Klitschko said eight new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under medical supervision.

The highest number of the new cases in Kyiv was registered in Shevchenkivsky district (15), Sviatoshynsky and Dniprovsky districts (12 each), and Pechersky district (10).

The total death toll in the city was 98 cases.

As UNIAN reported earlier, as of 09:00 Kyiv time on June 21, there were 36,560 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine. They included 1,002 deaths and 16,509 recoveries. Some 735 new cases were recorded in the past day.
