There are 1,871 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Kyiv / Photo from UNIAN

The city of Kyiv has confirmed 66 new coronavirus cases in the past day.

"The number of Kyiv residents who were diagnosed with the coronavirus over the past day has increased again – by another 66 people, including six doctors," Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote on Facebook on May 11.

As of today, there are 1,871 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

According to Klitschko, 32 women aged 27 to 79 and 29 men aged 28 to 84 are among those infected. In addition, two girls (one year and three years old) and three boys (four, 12 and 16 years old) tested positive for the coronavirus.

Klitschko said 26 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors.

The following districts of Kyiv reported the highest number of new cases in the past day: Obolonsky district (13 people), Darnytsky district (12), and Desniansky district.

The total death toll in Kyiv as of May 11 was 37 people.

As was reported, there were 15,648 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine as of 09:00 a.m. Kyiv time on May 11. They include 416 new cases reported in the past 24 hours. The death toll was 408 deaths (17 in the past 24 hours); 3,288 patients have recovered.
