Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko says COVID-19 is confirmed in 5% of city residents who undergo PCR testing with the use of polymerase chain reaction method.
"As I already reported, Kyiv today has the highest rate of PCR testing, that is, more than 85 tests run per 100,000 Kyiv residents. I'd like to note that those who tested positive for coronavirus account for 5%," he said during an online-briefing on June 15.
According to the mayor, two tests are run: the first one is aimed to detect the disease and another one – when a patient has clinically recovered.
As UNIAN reported earlier, there were 3,957 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kyiv as of the morning of June 15. Some 53 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
